About Lusk CFR

Our Aim

Lusk Community First Responders (Lusk CFR) are volunteers who are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Our aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives.

Our role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care including CPR and defibrillation, until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.

Here for You

All Lusk Community First Responders are volunteers who are living and/or working in Lusk.  Our volunteers are trained to respond to emergency calls and undergo regular training throughout the year to keep their skills up to date.

Whilst we are ready to perform life saving CPR, we are also trained to provide reassurance to patients and their families.

When a 999/112 call is received, the National Ambulance Service will alert our volunteers at the same time as the emergency services are dispatched.

Our Mission

Our Volunteers are passionate about sharing knowledge of CPR and use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) with our community.  We believe that anyone can be trained to perform effective CPR when called upon.

Follow us on our Facebook and Instagram accounts where we will share details of events organised by our team where we spread the #learnCPR message.

We plan to work with our community to provide additional access to AEDs in Lusk.  The best AED is the nearest AED.  We will work with local businesses and groups to ensure that the locations of additional AEDs are well known and registered with the National Ambulance Service.  We will also help to fundraise for additional public access AEDs in our community.   If you are  a local business or individual who would like to sponsor a Public Access AED in Lusk, please email us.
